Carnaíba, Brazil · Dubai, UAE

From rock to artwork,
with no middleman.

Salus World extracts emerald from its own mine, carves the sculpture from the very block that came out of the ground, and holds the collection in custody. Extraction, artwork and custody under one roof — which is why the origin of each piece is a verifiable fact rather than a claim.

Mining, sculpture and custody

Salus

Three stages, one company

Almost every gemstone sculpture uses raw material bought from a third party, with no way to know which mine it came from. Here there is no such gap.

Extracts

Our own mine in Carnaíba, Bahia. Underground face at 85 metres, worked by blasting and brushing. The beryl comes out embedded in schist, and that block is what goes to the bench.

Carves

Roberto Claussen carves the matrix that came out of our mine. The piece and the host rock are the same block — no third-party material anywhere in between.

Holds

The collection is held in Dubai, under a custody agreement and an insurance policy. The works do not circulate and are not sold in parts.

The mine

Carnaíba, Bahia

The Carnaíba range is one of Brazil's oldest emerald provinces. Our face is underground, reaches 85 metres, and is worked by blasting and brushing so the crystal comes out whole inside its host rock.

What matters for the collection is not the loose stone bound for cutting: it is the block in which the green beryl stayed embedded in the schist. That block is what becomes a sculpture.

The sculptor

Roberto Claussen

Self-taught, more than a hundred countries travelled, apprentice to Oscar Niemeyer and Roberto Burle Marx, and part of the circle of Bruno Giorgi and Athos Bulcão. Known as the Sculptor of the Seven Seas.

At Salus he is not handed a finished stone: he carves the block our own working face delivered, and signs every work. He is a partner in the operation, not a supplier to it.

The collection

Fifteen works in emerald matrix — one large horse, two lions and twelve smaller pieces. All by the same sculptor, all from the same mine, all held in custody in Dubai.

The works are not sold in parts and are not offered to the public. They make up the strategic reserve behind SalusToken, and the documentation for each — laboratory report, certificate of authorship, custody and insurance — is published on the token page.
